Who Needs This Course?

• Existing SIA-licensed Close Protection Operatives who are renewing their license.
• Anyone whose Close Protection license has recently expired and wishes to renew.
• Operatives needing to meet the 2022+ SIA training requirements.

• Terror Threat Awareness – Understand emerging threats and how to respond.
• First Aid Updates – Refresher on Emergency First Aid at Work (must already hold a valid certificate)
• Physical Intervention Skills – Learn revised, safer techniques in line with new standards.
• Use of Force and Conflict Management – Understand the legal framework and how to de-escalate effectively.
• Working in the Private Security Industry – Updated guidance for professional conduct and responsibilities

Entry Requirements:

• Must already hold or have held an SIA Close Protection license.
• Must have a valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate (or equivalent)
• Must be physically able to take part in practical elements.
• Must have good English language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)

Assessment Methods:

• Multiple-choice exams
• Practical assessments (e.g., physical intervention techniques)

Certification:

• Upon successful completion, you will receive the required certification to renew your SIA Close Protection License.
